What is a Discretionary Trust?
Also known as a Family Trust, these types of trusts are usually created to benefit the members of a family (the beneficiaries) through asset protection and sharing the tax burden.
Family Trusts allow trustees to spread the tax burden by streaming income to family members who are on lower tax rates, while also providing protection for family assets.
The Trust can last for up to 80 years or if you are a South Australian customer, our deed takes advantage of South Australian laws and provides an indefinite existence to your Trust.
Our online wizard also allows you to choose whether step-childen and step-grandchildren should be included in the beneficiary net.
